It’s not about the trophy,
or the recognition.
It’s all about the party.

Design Week Awards 2004.
Shortlisted, Interactive Media category. I was broke at the time of this awards do and couldn’t afford the trip to London, but apparently it was a good bash.
Epica 2003.
Best Online Film. I went to these awards with my client Richard Baker, of the Edinburgh International Film Festival. It was in an old castle in Dublin and was sponsored by Guinness - need I say any more? Apparently the night ended up with me dancing/fighting/moshing in my kilt with the gaffer of the company that organised the awards. I love Dublin.
Scottish Advertising Awards 2003.
Winner, Best Website and Commendation, Best Viral. A slow starter this one. The comedian was crap and completely alienated the audience which wasn’t quite drunk enough (yet) to assume he was being ironic. But once I’d picked up my awards the beers flowed fast and I ended up donating my shoes and walking home down Sauchiehall Street in my socks.
Flash Film Festival, San Francisco 2003.
Winner of the Story category. What a week that was. It was San Francisco’s first hot weather of the year, and everything felt sunny and full of colour. The endless cocktails were fuelled with mint and Sapphire and I had an Xbox in my hotel room. Happy days indeed.
Scottish Design Awards 2000.
Best Newcomer. Or it might have been called ‘One to Watch’ or something, I can’t remember. I do remember being very proud to be receiving such significant recognition from our local peer group. I also think we won something really good in the 2001 awards, but this was a crazy time and it’s very hazy. If someone from the Drum is reading this and remembers, or can look it up for me then drop me a line and I’ll bang the details in here.
Creative Futures, Creative Review, 2000.
Interactive Category. This was our first big break as Flam Jam, and provided us with a big night out in London. We got meet ‘famous’ folk that we’d read about in magazines and guess what? They were pretty normal. I seem to remember that there was another party we went to that night for some nu meedja magazine’s competition that we’d won a load of stuff in. I’m a bit vague about that though.
